These are ancient Icelandic magic symbols, as found in the Galdarbok, an old manuscript from the 17th century. The principle is to connect "lines" of power.

Well, here's the Svarrun, a runic-inspired T-shirt. Here, the Northern cosmogony is represented, with the 9 worlds supported by the branches of the Yggdrasil, the mythical tree. Its name comes from the Old Norse Svartr, dark, black, and Rùn mystery, magic. This is an allusion to the medieval demonization of these symbols, then considered "obscure" and dark, when their intent often depended on who was using them and for what purpose.
